Shut-off valves serve to shut off the flow of liquid or gaseous fluids in pipes. Control valves reliably control the flow of fluids in all applications. In many industrial processes the fluid handled has to be kept at a specific temperature. In these cases, components installed in the pipes may be the source of enormous heat losses. Valves that are not adequately insulated result in high energy losses – especially in systems containing a large number of valves.
