Slurry Training

We offer a comprehensive choice of training courses which teach proven methods to maximize performance and efficiency using GIW^® slurry pumping products. Both the Pump Maintenance and Slurry Transport course are hands-on and offered at our world-renowned Hydraulic Laboratory in Grovetown, Georgia. With special arrangements, a shortened version of our courses can be provided off-site.

We offer training options from slurry theory to pump maintenance techniques through our theoretical, practical and hands-on mix of courses. Whether attending the Slurry Transport Using Centrifugal Pumps Course or the Maintenance Course, participants leave with a deeper understanding of the design, operation and maintenance of centrifugal pumps.

Slurry Transport Using Centrifugal Pumps Course

The five-day course is designed for university educated engineers. It covers essential practical and economic considerations for slurry pumping with centrifugal pumps along with considerable attention to engineering theory.

In addition, participants learn the latest findings on very coarse particle pumping and pipeline transport at high solids concentrations.

The course features the revised and expanded 3rd edition of the textbook, "Slurry Transport Using Centrifugal Pumps." The book was written by Dr. Kenneth C. Wilson, Graeme R. Addie, Dr. Anders Sellgren and Dr. Roland Clift.

Maintenance of Centrifugal Slurry Pumps Course

This practical, hands-on course is designed for maintenance and operations personnel. Demonstrations include wet-end assembly, bearing housing assembly, and V-belt installation and adjustment, and are coupled with classroom instruction to help participants prevent problems before they occur.

Topics include:

Fluid flow principles

Slurry pump loading design and construction
Overview of rebuilding and remanufacture
Troubleshooting of an underperforming pump

The registration fee includes all lectures, lunches and a copy of the course material. The three-day course starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 5:30 p.m. Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. KSB reserves the right to cancel the course and refund registration fees.
