Keeps the economy flowing: Water for industry
From cleaning machines with service water to manufacturing medicines with ultrapure water: There is hardly any industrial manufacturing process out there which can do without treated water. Which types of water are actually required for which applications in industry, however? And what methods are applied to achieve the designated water qualities? Find out more here.

From potable to ultrapure: Water qualities for industry
Clean and good: What methods are used to treat water?
- Mechanical treatment, e.g. by grates, screens and filters (including membrane filtration types: micro, ultra and nano filtration)
- Physical treatment, e.g. by using aeration, atomization, sedimentation, flotation, vacuum processes and thermal effects
- Chemical treatment, e.g. via oxidation, disinfection, flocculation, ion exchange, activated carbon (adsorption), osmosis and reverse osmosis
From micro, ultra and nano filtration to reverse osmosis
A typical reverse osmosis cartridge cut open: The water to be purified is pressed through the membrane from the outside. Clean water remains in the centre.

Movitec
Multistage vertical high-pressure centrifugal pump in ring-section design with suction and discharge nozzles of identical nominal diameters arranged opposite to each other (in-line design), close-coupled. With KSB SuPremE, a magnetless synchronous reluctance motor (exception: motor sizes 0.55 kW / 0.75 kW with 1500 rpm are designed with permanent magnets) of efficiency class IE4/IE5 to IEC TS 60034-30-2:2016, for operation on a KSB PumpDrive 2 or KSB PumpDrive 2 Eco variable speed system without rotor position sensors. Motor mounting points in accordance with EN 50347, envelope dimensions in accordance with DIN V 42673 (07-2011). ATEX-compliant version available.
Multitec
Multistage horizontal or vertical centrifugal pump in ring-section design, long-coupled or close-coupled, with axial or radial suction nozzle, cast radial impellers and motor-mounted variable speed system. ATEX-compliant version available.
Etanorm/Etanorm MyFlow/Etanorm Pro
Single-stage volute casing pump in back pull-out design, with ratings and main dimensions to EN 733, with IEC-compatible power drive system comprising PumpDrive 2 and KSB SuPremE® motor or PumpDrive 3 (efficiency class IE4/IE5 to IEC TS 60034-2-3:2016) and motor-integrated frequency inverter. The pump is designed with replaceable casing wear rings, closed radial impeller with multiply curved vanes, single mechanical seal or double mechanical seals to EN 12756, shaft equipped with replaceable shaft protecting sleeve in the shaft seal area. The back pull-out design allows the coupling, bearing brackets and impeller to be dismantled without the need to disconnect the pump casing from the piping. Motor mounting points in accordance with IEC 60072, envelope dimensions in accordance with DIN V 42673 (07-2011). ATEX-compliant version available. Well ahead of the ErP Directive's efficiency requirements.
