Recognising risks of chemical substances: European chemicals regulation REACH

The European chemicals regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 (REACH) governs the registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemicals. It became effective on 1 June 2007 and aims to improve understanding of potential risks associated with the 30,000 chemical substances currently used in all sectors on the European market.

Its goal is to successively eliminate substances associated with very high risks from the market, or subject these to specific authorisation.
In order to achieve this goal, REACH sets out binding stipulations governing the exchange of information on chemical substances in the delivery chain, regardless of whether these substances are isolated or contained in a preparation, article or product.

Under the terms of the regulation, we are considered to be a manufacturer of goods. We can thus affirm that:
  • All substances present in our products (as defined by REACH), including pumps, motors, seals, valves, and all spare parts, meet REACH requirements when used as intended.
  • If our products contain substances of very high concern (SVHCs) on the ECHA Candidate List (opens in a new tab) in a concentration above 0.1 % weight by weight, we undertake to inform our customers as per article 33 of the regulation. This information can be found below.

Information regarding REACH article 33

On 27 June 2018, lead metal was added to the Candidate List (opens in a new tab) due to its classification as toxic for reproduction (Repro 1A, H360DF). 
The use of lead as listed in the SVHC candidate list is not currently prohibited.
