Closed-loop test

In the context of centrifugal pump technology, the term "closed-loop test" refers to
model testing
 and prototype testing of pumps and pump components carried out in a closed circuit (loop) on the
pump test facility
.
The opposite of the closed-loop test is the test with the pump mounted next to an open basin.
