Stronger together: How sport connects KSB employees worldwide

The people who work at KSB are not only a strong team professionally, but also on playing fields, on running tracks and in sports halls. While the year is not over yet, 2025 is already full of unforgettable moments that show how sports, community and fun are all part of working at KSB. Here is a selection of sporting highlights shared by KSB employees.

Germany: Showing team spirit at the Hockenheimring

A record team of more than 200 KSB employees, the majority of whom were from Frankenthal and Pegnitz, took part in this year’s BASF Company Cup 2025 at the Hockenheimring. Inline skaters and runners showed real team spirit as they competed on the 5.2 kilometres of race track asphalt. A particular highlight was our running group's race which was opened by CEO Dr Stephan Timmermann with the ringing of the starting bell. Before and after the races, the participants used one of the pits on the race track as a meeting point and celebrated there together. The fastest runner crossed the finish line at 18:40.9 (53rd place overall in the men’s category), the fastest female runner at 22:06.9 (37th place overall in the women’s category).

United Arab Emirates: Friendly competition connects

The sporting highlight of the year in Dubai was the Sports Day at KSB Middle East FZE. From tug-of-war competitions to entertaining sack races, the activities provided laughter and friendly competition that strengthened the sense of unity. Another highlight was the debut of the KSB Sky Walkers in the prestigious United Arab Emirates Oil & Gas Premier League, a cricket tournament that brings together leading companies in the industry. Cricket enjoys great popularity in the Emirates due to the high number of inhabitants from South Asia who bring their passion for the sport with them.

Malaysia: Exercising together for health and nature

At KSB Malaysia, health and well-being are an integral part of our corporate culture. Vaccination campaigns during the flu season, regular sports and wellness days, balanced meals and sustainable office practices create a working environment filled with energy. Sports activities not only boost fitness, but also team spirit – colleagues motivate each other to stay active and recharge their batteries. The Cyberjaya Forest Run 2025 was a particular highlight: Under the motto 'Every step saves the forest', KSB employees took to the trails together to combine the joy of exercise with helping to protect the environment.

Indonesia: Strong result in indoor football

On 12 July 2025, KSB Indonesia’s futsal team made history by reaching the final sixteen game of the prestigious PORKIND MM2100 tournament in which 94 companies from the region participated. This result was the outcome of hard work, intensive preparation and weekly training. Friendly matches with partners and a clear strategy have taken the team to where it is today. Futsal – a fast, technically demanding indoor football variant – is perfectly suited to the conditions in Indonesia. The matches are played on smaller pitches, often in covered halls, so that even tropical rain doesn’t stop the fun. With quick passes, lots of ball contact and exciting goal finishes, futsal is a dynamic game – and it is precisely this energy that the KSB Indonesia team embodies.

Mexico: Overcoming obstacles together

At KSB Mexico, team spirit does not end at the factory gate, as KSB employees impressively demonstrated at the Burden Run and the Race of Hope. The Burden Run is no ordinary race, but an adventure full of obstacles that requires courage, endurance and team spirit. At the two venues, Peña de Bernal and San Miguel de Allende, the team members surpassed themselves, supported each other at every obstacle and celebrated their successes together. Participant Juan Estrada summed it up perfectly: “It was my first time at an event like this, and as a team we strengthened our bond and how we collaborate by tackling the obstacles together.” The Race of Hope was also filled with profound moments. Five KSB employees took part in the race to raise donations for 14 foster homes for children in the state of Querétaro.

South Africa: Fitness and fair play through padel and football

At KSB South Africa, sport plays an important role in health, motivation and team spirit. In June 2025, 18 KSB employees formed a team to train together in padel, a dynamic racket sport that combines tennis and squash and is almost always played in doubles – ideal for promoting teamwork and fitness. The KSB South Africa football team is also an integral part of the corporate culture. Revived in 2018, they have since competed against teams from 14 other companies in the Industrial Soccer League every Friday. The 2025/2026 season has been running since March and ends in April 2026.
