KSB receives largest order in the company’s history

  • Eight large pumps for Eastern European power plant
  • Order volume in the three-digit million range
  • Growth strategy for power plant pumps

FRANKENTHAL: In March, the pump and valve manufacturer KSB received a major order worth more than 150 million euros. Over the next few years, the company’s Energy division will produce and deliver eight main reactor coolant pumps for a nuclear power plant in Eastern Europe. The pumps, which weigh more than 100 tonnes, and each have a power rating of 8 megawatts, will be manufactured at KSB’s main plant in Frankenthal.
Encompassing the supply of the large pumps as well as the associated tests for safe and reliable operation in the primary circuit of the nuclear power plant, it is the largest single order KSB has ever received. As the market leader for power plant pumps, the company is pursuing a clear growth strategy based on its technological expertise and extensive knowledge in the project business.
“The global demand for energy is growing, resulting in a sustained demand for new power plants,” says Dr. Stephan Timmermann, CEO of KSB. “This order underlines the project partner’s trust in our expertise and experience. We are delighted to be supplying these technically sophisticated large pumps from our Energy plant in Frankenthal over the course of the next few years.”
Main reactor coolant pumps ensure that coolant flows continuously through the reactor core in order to dissipate the heat generated and use it to produce electricity. The power plant project contributes to carbon-free energy generation and energy security in Europe.
As is customary in the industry, the contractual partners have agreed not to disclose the name of the client.
KSB is a leading international manufacturer of pumps and valves. The Frankenthal-based Group has a presence on five continents with its own sales and marketing organisations, manufacturing facilities and service operations. With a workforce of around 16,800, the KSB Group generated sales revenue of approximately € 3 billion in the 2025 financial year.
