KSB at drinktec 2022 in Munich
As a full-range supplier for primary and secondary processes in life sciences applications, the KSB Group will be presenting its comprehensive range of pumps and valves in Munich.
The focus will be on products for sterile and hygienic applications as well as on the associated support processes, showcasing the hygienic food pump series Vitacast, Vitachrom and Vitalobe. All these type series have been awarded the industry-standard certificates, such as EHEDG, and their elastomer components conform to FDA standards. Thanks to the large number of design variants the pump sets are offered in, they can cover almost any pumping task in the fields of liquid or viscous food transport.
As a special highlight, KSB will be presenting a Vitachrom pump equipped with hygienic sensors networked with the KSB Guard pump monitoring system. The system ensures that changes in the operating behaviour of the machine are detected at an early stage, and maintenance work can be better planned, without having to be on site with the pump. KSB Guard is ideally suited for retrofitting. The sensor unit is attached to the bearing bracket or the drive lantern of the pump, and can be mounted during operation without modifications to the machine. A supplied battery unit provides a self-sufficient power supply.
Besides the usual LSA products, additive manufacturing will also be featured at drinktec. Since 2015, the pump manufacturer has been operating a centre for additive manufacturing at its location in Pegnitz, Germany, and has developed extensive expertise in laser powder bed fusion. A complete pump casing produced using a 3D printer will be presented at the trade fair stand.
In the area of valves, the manufacturer will be exhibiting the ISORIA butterfly valve series with a liner material made from hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber (HNBR) and certified in accordance with the requirements of the European Food Contact Materials Regulation (EC) 1935/2004. The liner is suitable for all food applications in which animal, vegetable or mineral oils or acidic liquids are used. It is resistant to hydrocarbons and also suitable for use in solids-laden fluids as it is very abrasion-resistant. Further products to be featured from the comprehensive valve portfolio include HERA gate valves and BOA-H globe valves.
