Expanded programme of submersible pumps in discharge tube
By implementing the third expansion level for its AmaCan submersible pumps in discharge tube KSB SE & Co. KGaA has added further to its portfolio for municipal and industrial water applications and waste water management.
The new generation of the AmaCan P and AmaCan D type series is based on the outcome of a comprehensive development project in which existing hydraulic systems were analysed, customer requirements were newly assessed and the latest findings in fluid dynamics were considered.
The focus of this advanced development is on further improved operating reliability, enhanced energy efficiency and a longer service life. The pumps are designed with generous free passages and innovative self-cleaning blades (ever clean blades), reducing the risk of clogging and ensuring reliable operation also for fluids with a high solids content. Various blade angles of AmaCan P and trimmed impellers of AmaCan D enable precise adjustment to the respective operating point and help optimise efficiency and energy consumption.
For economical and sustainable operation, motors with premium and super premium efficiency are available. Additionally, intelligent sensor monitoring allows continuous measuremtn of vibrations and leakage as well as of bearing and motor temperatures. Combined with modern condition monitoring systems deviations are detected at an early stage and unplanned downtimes can be reduced.
A new product in the accessories range is AmaStraight, a flow straightener and installation part developed specially for AmaCan P. Its design enhances approach flow conditions at the pump inlet, reduces swirl and flow disturbances and does away with the need for separating walls. AmaStraight also redirects the operating and piping forces to the foundation slab, which makes the construction of pumping stations easier and allows several pumps to be installed next to each other in a space-saving arrangement. The system extends the application options of submersible pumps in discharge tube and creates more freedom for consultants in selecting systems for drainage, irrigation and flood control.
