KSB in Indonesia: First repair of a CHTD series pump

The pump overhaul at the Banten Power Plant in Salira was the first repair of a CHTD series pump at the KSB Indonesia Workshop.

The Banten Power Plant supplies 500 kV to a line of the Jawa Bali Transmission. The CHTD 6/6 dry-installed pump, which is used for the pumping of boiler feed water by PT. Lestari Banten Energi, is an important part of energy production. When it needed service handling, we got the chance to repair the first CHTD series pump at the KSB Indonesia Workshop.

PT. Lestari Banten Energi is part of the Genting Group, a global company, which is involved in leisure and hospitality, palm oil plantations, oil and gas, property development, life sciences, biotechnology activities and power generation.

The Banten Power Plant, located in Indonesia, is one of the backbone power plants and supplies 500 kV line at Jawa Bali Transmissions. PT. Lestari Banten Energi is also one of the end users of Independant Power Producer (IPP) in Indonesia.

Service overhaul for the CHTD 6/6 pump at the Banten Power Plant

KSB had supplied the critical equipment for the Banten Power Plant, including the High Pressure Barrel Feed Water Pump CHTD 6/6 as a major component. These pumps not only require special tools but also specific expertise and skills to repair and overhaul.

When the CHTD 6/6 at the Banten Power Plant needed servicing, KSB was there to dismantle, assemble, and commission the pump during the ongoing operation of the power plant. Thanks to their in-depth know-how in servicing these types of critical pumps, our experts from PT. KSB Indonesia successfully completed this demanding overhaul project.
