SEC-KSB Successfully Completes Phase III Upgrade of Nuclear Pump Manufacturing Base
SHANGHAI — On February 3, Shanghai Electric KSB Nuclear Pumps & Valves Co., Ltd. (SEC-KSB) successfully held the handover ceremony for the Phase III technological upgrade project of its nuclear main pump manufacturing base. The milestone marks a significant step forward in optimizing the joint venture's manufacturing capacity.
The ceremony was attended by senior leadership from both KSB and its partners, including Mr. Thomas Andreas Pabst, President KSB Energy and Member of the Supervisory Board of KSB SE & Co. KGaA; Mr. Andreas Hefter, President KSB Nuclear Energy; Mr. Li Huagang, President of Shanghai Electric Nuclear Power Group; Mr. Wang Mingsheng, Director of the Architectural Design Institute at Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research and Design Institute; and Ms. Gao Xiaoli, Deputy Secretary and General Manager of Shanghai Electric Lingang Heavy Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd.
During his address, Mr. Pabst extended his warmest congratulations on the project's completion and highly praised the remarkable "China Speed" demonstrated by the construction teams. Officially commenced on July 8, 2025, the entire physical construction of the Phase III project was completed by the end of the year, taking merely six months to reach the handover stage.
"This astonishing level of efficient execution and outstanding project management not only reflects the profound operational strength of SEC-KSB, but also serves as powerful proof of our commitment to our customers," Mr. Pabst noted. "It will undoubtedly strengthen the confidence of all parties in our future collaborations."
Representing our joint venture partner, Mr. Li Huagang expressed his gratitude to all participating units. He emphasized that the seamless completion of the project was the result of close collaboration among the company, design institutes, and construction teams. By optimizing safety controls, quality supervision, and schedule management, the unified team successfully leveraged their respective expertise to ensure the project's timely delivery.
The successful handover of the Phase III project officially launches a new round of production capacity enhancements for SEC-KSB.
