KSB Contributes to the 50th Anniversary of Sino-German Diplomatic Relations
On October 11, 1972, the Federal Republic of Germany and the People's Republic of China officially established diplomatic relations. Twenty-two years later, on October 12, 1994, Shanghai Pump Factory and the German-based KSB Group jointly established Shanghai KSB Pump Co., Ltd. in the Minhang District of Shanghai. The purpose of this collaboration was to promote advanced product concepts and outstanding technology, marking an important milestone in the cooperation between the two countries.
Today, KSB has established six factories in mainland China, employing nearly 800 people and achieving an annual sales revenue of over 1.2 billion RMB. The pump and valve products as well as solutions produced by KSB are widely used in various fields, including water management, energy, chemicals, general industry, and building services.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, looking back on the past, KSB has made a positive contribution to the exchange of technology, culture, and personnel between China and Germany. Since its establishment, the company has introduced several advanced pump production lines from Germany, such as the Omega axial split case volute pump and the first-generation HGB high-pressure boiler feed pump. These flagship products not only successfully "landed" in China in terms of technology but also "took root and sprouted" to adapt to localized applications in China.
While importing German technology, KSB has also continued to invest in expanding its production and research and development capabilities internally. They have built, upgraded, and transformed multiple production, assembly, and testing workshops and lines to produce more localized products for the domestic market to meet local demands.
Shanghai KSB not only focuses on production but also invests enthusiasm in corporate cultural activities. At the end of last year, KSB combined a new product launch event with its in-house German Beer Festival, promoting the inheritance and exchange of culture and industry between China and Germany by introducing German Beer Festival customs.
As an important hub for social practice and technical exchange, Shanghai KSB maintained close connections with various renowned universities in Germany from 2013 to 2019. More than 40 German university students visited our company during this period. Bilateral online and face-to-face visits and discussions promoted cultural exchange between the two countries.
