
CAP1400 RUV Prototype Passed Appraisal
On July 15, the CAP1400 RUV prototype finished all the qualification tests successfully at SEC-KSB. The testing data shows all performance parameters of the prototype satisfy the specification requirements. In addition, the disassembly result meet the acceptance requirement.
On July 31, the prototype passed the expert appraisal. Representatives from competent nuclear authorities attended and witnessed the whole process of the appraisal and check of disassembled parts.
A cooperation agreement for RUV development was signed by KSB, SEC-KSB and SPIC in 2011. Various tests and design modifications had been performed ever since then.
The success of the qualification tests marks the completion of CAP1400 wet winding motor reactor coolant pump prototype, which solves the bottle neck problem of key equipment for CAP1400 demonstration project and guarantees the RCP demand of the project.
