Newsletter

If you sign up to receive our newsletter, the information you provide will be used primarily for this purpose.

You must specify your e-mail address to sign up for the newsletter service. To ensure that the registration process was in fact initiated by the actual owner of an e-mail address, we employ the “double opt-in” process, which allows us to document that the newsletter was ordered and a confirmation e-mail was sent and replied to. This is all the information that is collected by KSB, Inc. To improve our newsletter services, in particular to avoid multiple orders, we will forward the e-mail address you provide us with to our European subsidiaries for comparison purposes. Once received, your e-mail address will only be used for this express purpose. Other third parties will not be involved. You can at any time revoke the consent to save your personal information and/or the use of it for newsletter distribution. A corresponding link is placed at the bottom of each newsletter. Universal Analytics

KSB's website uses the Google Universal Analytics service, a web analysis service offered by Google, Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA - “Google”). To this end, Universal Analytics leverages user IDs to identify the visitor of the web site, among other things. The information saved for this user ID in relation to the way in which you use this web site is typically sent to a Google server in the United States, where it is stored. Since IP anonymization is activated on these web sites, Google will first shorten, or abbreviate your IP address within the territory of the member states of the European Union or in other signatories to the European Economic Area Agreement. Only in exceptional, isolated cases will the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the United States and then be shortened. On our behalf, Google will use this information to evaluate and assess how you use the web site, create reports on web site activities and provide additional services to the web site operator in connection with web site and Internet usage (e.g. analysis of cross-device usage behavior). The IP address sent by your browser as part of Universal Analytics activities will not be merged or correlated with other Google data. If you want to prevent your web site usage data (including your IP address) from being collected and sent to Google as well as prevent this data from being processed by Google, click the following link to download and install the corresponding browser plug-in:

As an alternative to the browser plug-in or if you are using a browser app on a mobile device, click the following link to set an opt-out cookie, which will prevent Google Analytics from collecting data on this web site (this cookie only works in this browser and only in conjunction with this domain; if you delete your cookies in this browser, you will need to click the link again):

Deactivate Google Analytics

Note that this web site uses Google Analytics with the extension "anonymizelp". As such, IP addresses are only processed further in a shortened format to prevent any direct correlations with a specific individual from being made.

AdWords

This web site uses Google Conversion Tracking. If you reached our web site via an advertisement delivered by Google, Google Adwords will place a cookie on your computer. The tracking cookie is set when a user clicks an advertisement delivered by Google. These cookies expire 30 days later and can no longer be used for personal identification purposes. If the user visits specific pages on our web site and the cookie has not yet expired, both KSB and Google can determine that the user clicked the advertisement and was taken to this page. Every Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. As a result, cookies cannot be tracked via the web sites of AdWords customers. The information acquired using the conversion cookie is used to generate statistics for AdWords customers who have decided in favor of tracking. Customers then learn about the total number of users who clicked their advertisement and were taken to a page with a tracking tag. They do not receive any information that would allow them to uniquely identify users, however. If you do not want to be involved in tracking, you can choose to not have a cookie set either by deactivating the automatic cookie-setting function of your browser or configuring your browser to block all cookies from the “googleleadservices.com” domain. Please note that you may not delete opt-out cookies if you do not want analytical data to be logged. After you have deleted all cookies in your browser, you must reset the respective opt-out cookie.

Social media plug-ins

Our web site uses plug-ins from the following social networks:

Facebook Ireland Limited, Hanover Reach, 5-7 Hanover Quay, Dublin 2, Ireland ("Facebook"); the plug-ins can be identified by the use of one of the Facebook logos. A list is available online at https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins

Twitter, Inc., 1355 Market St, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103 ("Twitter"); the plug-ins can be identified by the use of one of the Twitter logos. A list is available online at https://about.twitter.com/en_us/company/brand-resources

Google (Google+), Google, Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; (“Google+”); the plug-ins can be identified by the use of one of the Google+ logos. A list is available online at https://developers.google.com/+/web/+1button/?hl=en

Plug-ins are ready-made extensions for websites that are created by the operators of social networks and made available to third parties to be used. They allow a connection or link to be made between another Internet page and the respective network. What all social network plug-ins have in common is the fact that they are not overseen or managed by KSB despite being integrated in third-party web content. This is why we inform users of our website about the way in which these plug-ins work so that they can decide themselves whether or not to use them.

We use the “double-click method” for social media plug-ins to maximize data protection for users of our website. When the website is called, the buttons are deactivated and do not immediately start sending information to social network operators. Only when the button is temporarily or permanently activated (first click) does the user express consent to this effect, at which point information is sent accordingly. The second click communicates the user’s trust in the networks we facilitate. This method makes it possible for users of our website to decide on whether they agree with sending usage data to social network operators.

When users visit our website with plug-ins permanently activated in accordance with the double-click method, the browser establishes a direct connection with the server of the social network and user-specific data is sent to the aforementioned social network providers without the user being made expressly aware of this. In the case of Facebook, this typically involves information specifying that the user has visited our website and includes the IP address of the end device or terminal used along with the date and time, browser and operating system. This also occurs when the user does not click the “Like” button. Twitter, on the other hand, not only collects information stating that the website was visited, but also the IP address. Social network operators have not disclosed any further details on additional data they may collect in this context. As long as the user is logged on to the respective social network when visiting our website, the network can assign or correlate this visit with the matching user account. If the user clicks a plug-in or uses other social network functions (e.g. the comment function), this information is also sent to and saved on the servers maintained by the social network. Should the user want to prevent this additional information from being sent, he or she must log off of the social network prior to loading our website.

We are not made aware of or receive any further details regarding the type and scope of the data sent. Refer to the data privacy and protection information of the social networks for specifics on the purpose and scope of the data collection activities pursued by the respective provider, further processing and use of the data by this provider and user rights and setting options for protecting user privacy.
