Data Privacy and Protection Information on Social Media Plugins

KSB Aktiengesellschaft uses “social media plugins”, also called “social plugins”, of social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and Google+.

Initially, the social media buttons are deactivated for data privacy and protection reasons.

Only when you have clicked the button to use the plugin, thus declaring your consent to communicate with the social network, do the buttons become active and establish a connection with the social network. Activation is valid for this visit only.

A recommendation can then be sent to Facebook, Google+ or Twitter by clicking a second time.

Facebook:

Our web site uses social plugins (hereinafter referred to as “plugins”) of the facebook.com social network, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (hereinafter referred to as “Facebook”. The plugins can be identified by one of the Facebook logos (a white “f” on a blue tile or a “thumbs-up” icon).

For data privacy and protection reasons, we have, therefore, initially deactivated the relevant buttons and inserted an appropriate message. Only when you have clicked the message to use the plugin, thus declaring your consent to communicate with Facebook, do the buttons become active and establish a connection with Facebook. Only then does your browser establish a direct connection with the servers at Facebook. The content of the plugin that appears is transmitted directly by Facebook to your browser, which then integrates it into the web site. We have no influence on the scope of data that Facebook collects with the help of this plugin and, for this reason, we would like to refer you to the information  published by Facebook.

Once the plugin is activated, Facebook is informed that you have accessed the respective page of our web site. If you are logged into Facebook, it can then associate the visit with your Facebook account. If you interact with the plugins, such as by clicking the “Like” button, sharing the page or submitting a comment, the relevant information is transferred by your browser to Facebook, where it is then stored.

Even if you are not a member of Facebook, it might obtain and store your IP address after you click the Facebook message.

If you are a member of Facebook but you do not wish for Facebook to collect information about you via our web site and link it to your member details that are stored on the Facebook servers, you must first log out of Facebook before you visit our web site and click our Facebook message.

For more detailed information about the type, purpose and scope of your data as well as how it is processed and used by Facebook, please refer to the data privacy information of Facebook.

GOOGLE +:

We use the +1 button from Google. This is provided and operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States (hereinafter referred to as “Google”).

For data privacy and protection reasons, we have, therefore, initially deactivated the relevant buttons and inserted an appropriate message. Only when you have clicked the message to use the plugin, thus declaring your consent to communicate with Google+, do the buttons become active and establish a connection with Google+.

Only then does your browser establish a connection with the servers at Google. The content of the button is transferred directly by Google to your browser and displayed accordingly within the environment of our web site; we have no influence on the content of the button. Google might be able to trace your visit to our corresponding web pages and associate it with a Google account or Google+ account if you are registered with Google or have recently visited a Google web page or other pages that also have an integrated Google plugin. If you click the button, the relevant information is also transferred directly by your browser to Google; we have no influence on this. For more detailed information about the type, purpose and scope of your data as well as how it is processed and used by Google, please refer to the data privacy information of Google+.

The plugins can be identified by one of the Twitter logos (bird silhouette/outline in various colours on different backgrounds).

For data privacy and protection reasons, we have, therefore, initially deactivated the relevant buttons and inserted an appropriate message. Only when you have clicked the message to use the plugin, thus declaring your consent to communicate with Twitter, do the buttons become active and establish a connection with Twitter.

Only then does your browser establish a connection with the servers at Twitter. The content of the button is transmitted directly by Twitter to your browser, which then integrates it into the web site. Your browser then establishes a direct connection with the servers at Twitter. Therefore, we have no influence on the scope of data that Twitter collects with the help of this plugin and, for this reason and to the best of our knowledge, we would like to refer you to the information provided by Twitter, which you can find at the following link: http://twitter.com/about/resources on Twitter's own web site.

Once the plugin is integrated, Twitter is informed that you have accessed the respective page of our web site. If you are logged into Twitter when you use the plugin, Twitter can associate your visit with your account. If you interact with the plugins, such as by clicking a “Tweet This” button or submitting a comment, the relevant information is transferred directly by your browser to Twitter, where it is then stored. If you are a member of Twitter but you do not wish for Twitter to collect information about you via our web site and link it to your details that are stored on the Twitter servers, you must first log out of Twitter before you visit our web site.
