KSB Limited conducting free service camps for submerged “Petty Para” motor pump sets in Thrissur.
Thrissur is one of the major producer of paddy. With the recent floods in Kerala, the paddy fields in Thrissur are badly affected. Motor pump sets, petty para are submerged in the flood water and now they are out of order.
“Petty Para” is a conventional irrigation systems used for dewatering low laying fields and thus making the paddy fields ready for cultivation. If these systems are not repaired then the next harvesting season will not only get badly affected but also upset the food sufficiency of Kerala state. KSB realized the seriousness of the situation and immediately arranged free service camps of these pumpsets with the help of Department of Agriculture. KSB’s engineers along with technicians of local dealers are visiting the affected sites and repairing the motors free of cost.
Looking at this KSB’s initiative, students from Kelappaji College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology also joined the service campaign.
KSB has studied the age old “Petty Para” technology and recommended to the Agriculture Department to use the latest generation dewatering pumps made with the proven German Technology. These pumps are not only cost effective but are also energy efficient, saves installation cost.
In the month of July 2018 when Kuttanad area was flooded with rain water these dewatering pumps were deployed there and which proved a great success.
