KSB Supports Flood Control Solution in South Kalimantan

Heavy rains, severe weather conditions and major flooding in January 2021 have affected multiple regencies in South Kalimantan Province, reportedly killed at least 24 people and forced more than 135,656 people to flee their home with a total of 633,732 people have been affected by the flood.

In line with World Water on Mar 22, 2021 with theme: Valuing Water including the environmental, social and cultural value people place on water, KSB Indonesia supports the flood control solution in South Kalimantan by handed over 1 unit of KSB Amarex, a vertical single-stage submersible motor pump completed with control panel, represented by Felix Sri H, Sales Manager for Water & Energy Balikpapan Branch Office, KSB Indonesia, to the representatives of South Kalimantan public river basin management organization/Balai Wilayah Sungai (BWS) to facilitate flood control solution to mitigate the risk, minimize the loss and damage of the communities.

KSB Amarex NF 65 – 170/042 ULG 158 is a fully floodable submersible motor pump, non-self-priming and close-coupled design with with flow rate up to 80 m³/h, 22 l/s and head up to 23 m. KSB Amarex is easy and fast to connect, polarized connection with watertight cable and KSB plug with significant energy savings and high efficiency through optimised hydraulic system, long service life with shaft made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel, zero maintenance and environmentally friendly. This wastewater pump will be applied by BWS for the flood control system in Tapin or particularly most affected area in South Kalimantan.
