New KSB valves facility inaugurated in Dalian
On 18 October 2007, pumps and valves manufacturer KSB officially opened a new production facility for butterfly valves in the special economic zone of Dalian in China.
The company built the 6000 m² facility to manufacture valves of the global Amri brand, which are used in building services, water management and industrial applications. They are intended for customers in Asia and Europe. The new production facility replaces the provisional plant which KSB set up in Dalian in 2004.
More than 250,000 valves a year are planned to be manufactured on the site's four production lines. By the end of the coming year, KSB plans to increase the number of its employees from currently 100 to 150.
In addition, the company employs a further 830 people at its pumps facility in Shanghai. With the products manufactured there and also the imported products, KSB in China has already advanced to the market leader for pumps. For its valves, KSB is likewise pursuing ambitious growth targets.
With the current expansion of its valves production, KSB is taking account of these targets and the growing demand for valves on the Asian market. In addition, the facility supplies valve components to the French and Spanish plants of the KSB Group.
Like all the companies in the Group, the Chinese subsidiary Dalian KSB AMRI Valves Co. Ltd. also meets the highest standards in terms of quality, safety and environmental protection. It is certified to ISO 9001-2000 and the European Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC (quality), as well as to ISO 14001 (environment) and OHAS 18001 (occupational safety).
