In recent years, KSB Shanghai Pump Co., Ltd. has focused on the continuous improvement of technologies and products as well as technical innovation. Based on the digestion and absorption of introduced technologies and the market demands, the technicians have developed some readily marketable products through autonomous innovation and have made excellent technical achievements.
The Company has been awarded the National Key New Products, the Shanghai Key New Products, the Patented and Innovating Products of Shanghai Municipality, and the China Industry-Academia Cooperation Innovative Achievements Award. In addition, it has obtained the Certificate of Shanghai High-tech Enterprise and been certified by the Shanghai Enterprise Technology Center.
Cooperation with key university
In technical innovation, KSB Shanghai Pump Co., Ltd. makes full use of external resources, actively carries out industry-academia cooperation activities, and has conducted many times of scientific and technological cooperation with Jiangsu University, Yangzhou University, University of Shanghai For Science and Technology, Tongji University, Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research and Design Institute, China Nuclear Control System Engineering Co., Ltd., Shanghai Jiaotong University, Tsinghua University and many other universities, research institutes and partner companies.
Through industry-academia cooperation, the Company has made certain achievements in technical research and development. The “ZL31-5 Vertical Axial Flow Pump for the Taierzhuang Pump Station of South-to-North Water Diversion Eastern Route Phase I Project” was developed together with Yangzhou University and has been awarded the Second Prize of China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award. The “AP, TD and AZ Nuclear Class II Pumps” were developed together with Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research and Design Institute and Tongji University and thus the Company has made great achievements in the nuclear pump field. The research and development of nuclear pumps brings excellent economic benefits and social benefits and greatly improves the market competitiveness of the enterprise. The “NLT500-570×5S Condensate Pump” developed together with Shanghai Jiaotong University has received many awards, including the Third Prize of China Machinery Industry Federation Award, the First Prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Advancement Award, the National Key New Products, the Patented and Innovating Products of Shanghai Municipality, and the Independent Innovation Product of Shanghai.
The problem for the circulating water pump materials to resist seawater corrosion is solved by means of the project “High-capacity High-efficiency Vertical Modular Circulating Water Pump” researched and developed together with Shanghai University of Engineering Science during 2009-2010, which filled a vacancy in this industry in China. Currently, the project has been listed in the Minhang District Technical R&D Projects, and has obtained the First Prize of 2009 Scientific and Technological Achievements Award – Minhang District, Shanghai, and the 2010 China Industry-Academia Cooperation Innovative Achievements Award.

Currently, the Company’s ongoing industry-academia cooperation projects mainly include the “Design and Development of Hydraulic Model for Guide Vane Mixed Flow Pump with High Capacity and High Lift” cooperated with Huazhong University of Science and Technology, the “Research on Localization of 1.6772 Material for Pump Bolts” cooperated with Shanghai University of Engineering Science, and the “Design and Optimization of Pumps for CAP1400 Nuclear Power Plants” cooperated with Tsinghua University.
