An update on the current situation
Dear customers, partners and colleagues,
At KSB we are following the rapid spread of the coronavirus and the associated global impact on people and the economy very closely, and have been quick to take measures to protect our employees and maintain our operational capability.
An interdisciplinary steering committee with subordinate workstreams on special topics such as personnel, procurement, production, sales & service and communication is discussing the worldwide situation in our company on a daily basis and deciding on measures to be introduced. Our top priority is the responsibility we bear towards our employees, our company, our customers and our suppliers. In endeavouring to meet this responsibility, we seek to act with foresight, utmost professionalism and necessary pragmatism. Though this will be a difficult time for us all, we are absolutely confident that we will overcome the challenges ahead.
All of our factories and service centres are currently operational, for the most part without any significant restrictions. According to the information available to us, however, production may be restricted or interrupted at individual suppliers. Here we will use existing stocks and alternatives wherever possible. If, however, there should be restrictions in production and individual customers cannot be supplied on time, we will of course inform them immediately – the same applies to our service operations.
Due to reduced transport capacities, especially in air and sea freight, delays in shipment may occur. We are therefore working hard with our logistics partners to keep the delivery routes of our products stable.
Wherever practical and possible, our employees are currently working from home and using digital communication channels. We have also reduced in-person events to an absolute minimum and replaced them with Skype and video conferencing. In this way we are reducing personal contacts and lowering the risk of transmission. This also allows us to ensure that your contact persons in Sales and Service continue to be available for you without restriction. The same applies to our digital services, such as the KSB Online Shop.
In the factories themselves, we have been quick to initiate extensive additional hygiene and safety measures to reduce the risk of infection to an absolute minimum.
