Our materials laboratory

In our accredited KSB materials laboratory (certified to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025), we test materials and components using the highest level of precision. From chemical analysis to mechanical-technological testing and damage diagnosis, every analysis and test is standardised, documented and reproducible.

Fluid analyses

  • Water analyses and solids characterisation (chemical composition, particle sizes, corrosion behaviour)
  • Viscosity measurements and flow behaviour assessment
  • Materials recommendations based on the fluid handled, pH, electrical conductivity, temperature and operating conditions

  • Chemical analyses of the composition (X-ray fluorescence analysis/X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, optical emission spectroscopy, positive material identification)
  • Mechanical-technological tests (tensile, notched bar impact, bending and hardness tests to Vickers, Brinell, Rockwell)
  • Microscopy and structural examinations (optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, EDX analysis)
