The KSB Story

KSB is an international supplier of highly engineered pumps, valves, and related systems and services for a variety of applications, including wastewater, building services, water treatment and transport, energy, process engineering, and power plant processes. With 40 manufacturing facilities and 170 service centers, KSB operates in 130 countries on five continents.

It all started in Frankenthal, Germany, in 1871 when three men pooled their talents and resources to found the company. Johannes Klein was a pump engineer who wanted to start a company, but he didn’t have the money. His friend, brewery master Friedrich Schanzlin, provided the financing. Jakob Becker was a farmer who owned land in Frankenthal. He provided the space to build the facility, which now covers 360,000 square meters.

KSB started with a six-ton steam-engine driven pump and made a mark in boiler feed manufacturing. The company is now recognized as a leading manufacturer of centrifugal pumps and engineered solutions.

KSB has technology that makes its mark wherever there are fluids to be transported, controlled, or shut off. The KSB brand promises its customers expertise, quality, and reliability. It also guarantees dependable service worldwide.

Engineered products tailored to customer specifications are developed for jobs with particularly demanding requirements. KSB’s research centers focus on hydraulics, materials technology, and the automation of pumps and valves.
