Flow velocity in a cross-section
The flow velocity (v) in a cross-section is the volumetrically averaged flow velocity in a specific flow cross-section (e. g. a pipe cross-section).
The unit of measurement for flow velocity is m/s.

This relationship produces standard reference values for determining the flow velocity in piping (see Piping).
