Wolfgang Kochanowski- Minimized operating costs, top efficiency

You've never had these savings before ...

Pressure exchanger technology is far more efficient than turbines

Using a pressure exchanger for energy recovery considerably reduces specific energy costs. This is because a pressure exchanger is more efficient than a turbine solution.
Energy consumption (blue: pressure exchanger, red: turbine)

Our focus is on energy efficiency

In a system where energy is recovered by turbine, the specific energy consumption for pressure boosting would be 3,3 kWh/m3.
With the indroduction of SalTec, KSB is working to reduce energy input to 2,5 kWh/m3.
For a permanent operating period of 20 years at a kWh price of € 0,05, this would mean energy savings of € 1,4 million.

Calculation conditions

Perfect interaction of all components

Rather than calculate the efficiency of every single component, KSB optimizes their total interaction. This markedly reduces interface losses, and simplifies the plant designer's job, because all components have been ideally matched and coordinated in the factory.
