Combined sewage retention tank

Anckelmannsplatz - Hamburg , Germany

With a storage capacity of 21,500 m³, the tank serves as intermediate storage for the different types of fluid from the public sewer system in periods of heavy rainfall.
Intermediate storage stops the sewer overflowing and thus prevents the polluted water from mixing with the surface water. The retention tank is located underneath an office building, which meant that venting had to be designed according to particularly stringent requirements.
Acting as main contractor, KSB was responsible for co-ordinating the work of the various sub-contractors, both technically and from the point of view of scheduling.
