KSB reported renewed demand for standard pumps and valves in the first half of 2010. As anticipated, a reduction in large orders was recorded in the project business with its high proportion of customised products. Total order intake reached € 1,003.0 million by the end of June, while sales volume totalled € 914.9 million, meaning that, midway through the year, both were down 2.3 % on the figures for the first half of 2009.

After three years of planning and constructing, the KSB Group company, KSB ITUR Spain S.A., commissioned an automatic pump test facility of more than 1,000 square metres on 9 July 2010. The new unit in Zarautz is one of the most modern sites in the world.

KSB Group has expanded the steel foundry capacities at its Indian site of Vambori over the past months.

The end of May 2010 saw the start-up of a plant in Piteå, northern Sweden, which uses wood to produce engine fuel. The plant utilises a new process developed by a Swedish company to make diesel from so-called tall oil.
