KSB steps up fire protection activitiesAcquisition of Kagema Industrieausrüstungen GmbH KSB AG, the pump and valve manufacturer based in Frankenthal, Germany, will acquire Kagema Industrieausrüstungen GmbH at the beginning of June. Kagema, based in Pattensen near Hanover, is a leading supplier of diesel pump units for fire protection systems on the German market. They currently employ 70 people.

In this way, KSB is strengthening its engagement in the market for fire-fighting systems. The Frankenthal-based company will use Kagema's technology to provide its customers with a comprehensive range of pumps driven by electric motors or diesel engines, as well as switchgear and emergency power generators for fire protection applications. This product portfolio, which is oriented towards national and international standards, includes products manufactured in Germany, Italy and Spain. Today, the KSB Group is numbered among the leading suppliers of pumps for fire protection systems in Europe.
"The acquisition of Kagema is another important milestone towards improving our position on the market for fire-fighting technology worldwide," is how Dr Wolfgang Schmitt, Chairman of the Board of Management, describes KSB's ambitions. He believes the company to be on the right track for expanding its portfolio of fire protection products in the coming years on a global scale. Besides in Europe, KSB also manufactures pumps and fire-fighting systems in Australia, Argentina, Brazil, South Africa and Turkey.
