Showtime in SeptemberMississauga, Ont, Sept. 2011 – After a busy summer moving into bigger, better headquarters, KSB launched what promises to be a busy year on the sales front with appearances at two important September trade shows.
First up was the Oil Sands Trade Show and Conference held Sept. 13-14 in Fort McMurray in the heart of Alberta’s oilfields industry. With over 4,000 registered visitors, this annual event marks the largest gathering of oil sands professionals in the world. Sharing a well-attended booth with sister company GIW, the global leader in slurry pump technology, KSB showcased its proven pump solutions used for in in-situ extraction as well as in moving large volumes of water for exploration and refining. The newest addition to KSB’s oilsands portfolio are corrosion-resistant borehole pumps for the recovery of brackish groundwater from deep deposits. “Our borehole pump display created a great deal of interest – mainly because of the clear environmental benefits it offers users,” says Mike Blundell, president of KSB in Canada. Next up was a new show for KSB: the 2011 Western Canada Water (WCW) Conference and Exhibition held in Saskatoon, Sept. 20-22. Here, the focus was on the latest technology in water and wastewater treatment. The event marked the 63rd annual gathering of the association, attracting over 500 WCW delegates, including utility managers and operators, provincial and municipal government representatives, and consulting engineers. “Being at the show for the first time gave us lots of opportunities to network with local decision-makers – and make them aware of the many water and wastewater pumps offered by KSB,” says strategic planner Aaron Forer, who manned the booth ‘in fashion’, wearing the green jersey of that province’s Canadian Football League team, the ‘Roughriders’.
